Yes, that’s how many layers we pulled up to strike gold! We were able to take a look at our new flat we’ll be moving into in a couple of weeks. We realized that there were original hardwood floors underneath five layers of lino (as the Aussies call it)! Underneath the last layer of lino was a layer of newspapers from 1957; that was pretty cool to find. I think we’ll try to frame one and hang it up somewhere. So this past weekend we spent hours pulling up old lino, pulling tacks out, hitting nails back down, sanding and sanding and finally putty-ing cracks. Talk about hard work!
However, late Sunday afternoon we took a look and knew that it was well worth it. After we put some stain down on the floors it’ll look heaps better than what was there! And it was so fun doing the project together. I think that’s what we enjoyed most was working together and knowing that every time we walk into our new home we’ll see how our hard work paid off.
Josiah posted heaps of great progress pictures on his Flickr. (It’s to the right side). Stay tuned for more pictures soon when we move in! We’re not sure what our next project we’ll be yet, there’s a few to choose from.

I found your blog on google and read a few of your other posts. I just added you to my Google News Reader. Keep up the good work. Look forward to reading more from you in the future.
