The Royal Disney Ball

disneyparty_4.jpg

Josiah and I went to our little four year-old friend’s birthday party last week which was a Royal Disney Ball. You couldn’t get in the door unless you were dressed up! There were some great characters…one of Josiah’s favorites was Mary Poppins and Bert! One of my favorites was Aladdin and Jasmine, complete with Abu on Aladdin’s arm and “magic” carpet. Ha ha! It was an absolute blast.

Josiah and I were going to go as Little Bo Peep and Woody but I couldn’t find a dress to really satisfy the costume, so eventually we gave up and went as Cinderella and Prince Charming. It was an absolute blast doing my hair up and wearing lots of make-up. I love dressing up! And the best part about it, is I found another wear out of my wedding dress! Haha…it was great. There was a little castle to take pictures under and Beast was the host considering his daughter, the birthday girl, was Belle and great soundtracks for our childhoods played in the background.

There was Pippi Longstockings, Peter Pan, Hook, Little Mermaid, Prince Eric, King Triton (the king of the mer-people) Cars, the godmothers from Sleeping Beauty, Esmeralda and Quasimodo, Snow White, Queen of Hearts, Alice in Wonderland, the White Rabbit and the Mad-Hatter, Spiderman and Superman (although they’re not Disney), and of course, Beauty and the Beast!

It was a lot of fun and we’re excited for the next themed party! :)

Great Camping Pictures!

I am so thankful Josiah’s good at taking pictures because I don’t really enjoy taking them, just looking at them. But I’m pretty good at talking which then goes to writing, which is kind of like talking, so we’re a good pair I would say!

We went camping last weekend with some of our friends. They are newlyweds as well (they got married the day before us actually!) and we enjoyed getting to hang out and discover more of Queensland’s natural beauty.

We were camping in the rainforest and it definitely rained. Yet the rain provided green scenery and clear swimming holes it was breathtaking! We discovered a great swimming hole as well as a great scenic hike where you trekked through the rainforest; it honestly looked like you were walking through a scene of Lord of the Rings because there were these huge trees with roots that grew six feet high on top of the ground! And you could hear the croak of green tree frogs at night which proved to be quite annoying when you’re trying to fall asleep.

Now, rainforests are nice, and camping is fun. But the toilets were not nice and seeing a snake was not fun. The rainforest is home to many, many animals of different species. One being a python, which I was fortunate to see half an hour before I was supposed to be sleeping. Yuck. I kept waking up thinking it was going to sneak into our tent.

The next day we went to a national park and hiked some more and saw a really cool waterfall…which it will be a lot fuller in a couple months once the wet season picks up.

It was a fun expedition! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
