This article by our friend Bill is excellent on YWAMer transition to different locations
Re-Entry when it comes to Christian Missions is defined as:
Re-Entry – The process of transitioning from short-term or long-term missions to life at home.
Bill and Tamara Hutchison were with Reef to Outback, Australia for 11 years and are good friends of Josiah and I. Bill articulated what we feel so well we are posting his article!
YWAM Kona

These past few days I’ve come to realize, I am a YWAMer. Everything about this missions organization excites me, makes me smile, my heart pump, tears well up and I can just throw my hands in the air and say “God, you are SO good.”
The YWAM University of the Nations campus is absolutely amazing. It’s the largest YWAM base in the world, over 800 people training, living, teaching here. I sat at lunch with four different nationalities, the Canadian and I having a conversation but she’s periodically laughing at the Korean jokes next to her: she’s bilingual. I had a hard time understanding the Native Hawaiian accent, just smiled and nodded my head. I’ve met a young lady from Kosovo—she doesn’t use Facebook because at home there would be serious consequences if her community knew what she was doing.
our latest news…oct 09
Most of you know that since we left Australia in December we have been planning on doing the School of Biblical Studies with YWAM in Montana in September 09. We believed that was where God was leading us, and we were doing everything we could to get there.

One of our main objectives was to raise the funds we need for the course as well as pay off debt we have from the past few years. Our departure date came upon us very quickly and we had not raised all the funds we needed for our time in Montana, nor had we paid off our debt. We realized that by going to Montana we would just be adding to our debt each month bit by bit. That did not seem very wise or responsible to us.

latest from the ritners. (jan 09)

We are doing well. We have had an incredibly busy six weeks, sense moving back from Australia in December. It’s been an awesome time. We were able to spend time with family and friends in Oklahoma and North Carolina. We had an awesome Christmas. It was just a blessed time. We are now working on getting settled in Oklahoma for a little while.
Moving Time: Our latest Newsletter.
Since the beginning of April Josiah and I have felt a little stirring in our hearts about future steps and what’s next with Reef to Outback and YWAM. For a while it was confusing because we’ve been here so long but felt like we were becoming un-attached to a lot of the new ministries and such, until we started talking to each other and realized we should start praying and considering our next step in missions. We also realized our commitments would conclude in December of this year. After a few months of collecting puzzle pieces and much prayer, Josiah and I believe the timing is right for us to move on. We absolutely love Reef to Outback and where it’s going and the people it’s reaching, but our passions and our giftings are not necessarily aligning with where we’re at now.
